The Bears won the NFC Division Title tonight by outplaying the New Orleans Saints. We were fortunate to obtain this in-depth interview with Bear coach, Lovie Smith immediately following the game:
PHG: Lovie, how do you feel after this decisive victory over the Saints?
LOVIE: I feel like hitting the town tonight with the team. We like to go out for chocolate malts.
PHG: You were kind of struggling at the end of the season this year. What turned the Bears around?
LOVIE: It was the Green Bay game on New Years Eve. They showed us how real men play football. They inspired us to go on. We keep a full sized picture of Brett Favre in our locker room with votive candles underneath.
PHG: What about the support you've had from your fans?
LOVIE: We have fans from all over the country. Mostly from impoverished areas, penal institutions, and mental wards. We also have fans that are confused and disoriented like some people in Wisconsin.
PHG: This brings us to a personal and touchy question. Why do they call you Lovie?
LOVIE: I'm glad your asked that question. I'm not ashamed of my behavior. When the team starts to lose focus, I perform "favors." With me it's
ONE PLAYER AT A TIME!
